Interestingly, the all-terrain concept is not entirely new to Rolls-Royce. Back in the early 1900’s in the North African war theatre, the legendary Lawrence of Arabia is quoted as saying his fleet of nine modified Rolls-Royces are, “more valuable than rubies in the desert”.

Up to the Mountains and Down to the Sea

After putting Lincoln’s Navigator to the test last year, I was looking forward to getting behind the wheel of its smaller sibling, the Nautilus. The folks at Lincoln selected the scenic San Rafael Mountain region east of Santa Barbara as the location for our test drive. Beautifully winding roads along the Santa Ynez river valley offered great vistas and the nicest of scenery for us to snap some shots of the handsome Nautilus from all angles—and the odd selfie, of course.
