Serenity in the Bushlands

By Kylie MacKenzie

Sophisticated, timeless and casually elegant, Pretty Beach House guests come to embrace natural beauty and connect with the earth. Here, heart and soul were the driving force for local artists work-ing tirelessly with owners Karina and Brian Barry to create a quintessentially Australian home away from home.  With simple, yet strong design that blends indigenous culture, handcrafted lights and furnishings with fine Italian Busatti linens, bespoke interiors are sensitive to colour and textures of the surrounding bush.

Set on seven and a half acres, the main house was built with handmade mud bricks and timber posts from a decommissioned Queensland bridge. It’s a shared space with lounging, dining areas, a cocktail bar, open fireplace and a Stefano Ferrara Italian pizza oven. Four pavilions, Treetops, Bayview, Hideaway and Retreat, surround to accommodate eight adults.  All boast views of sparkling bay waters through a mass of ancient angophoras.

Cuisine is garden grown produce served with rare old and new world wines. And, for guests exclusively, Bouddi Spa is a private haven thoughtfully designed to rebalance body, mind and soul.

Once you arrive, you won’t want to leave!
