Let summer fun begin

There is nothing quite like a summer picnic and while it may take some advanced planning to get it right, the effort is well worth it. To enjoy great food and good wine start off by finding a perfect picnic spot and invite some of your favourite people. For us, a beach location is always best since it combines all the things we love most—family, friends, sand and sun.

All wrapped up
A picnic requires us to think of how to carefully pack foods and wraps are an ideal alternative to sandwiches. Wraps are easy to drizzle with sauce
on-site before serving (goodbye soggy sandwiches).

Chill out
Chilled soups are perfect for picnics. They can easily be stored in air-tight jugs then poured and garnished before serving. My twist on classic chilled soups is to create tasty fruit-soups to be enjoyed for dessert.

‘Fet-a’ compli
There is no combination I like more than watermelon and feta in a salad with fresh mint, blueberries and cucumber. A crowd pleaser sure to appeal to almost any picnic guest.

Rosé, rosé, rosé
By now you must know how much @sheilacentner and I enjoy our rosé. For us it’s the ideal spring and summer drink since it is light. When served over ice, rosé can be enjoyed throughout the day with no regret.

I always love hearing from readers about their favourite picnic “tip or trick” so DM me @sebcentner with yours and I will repost my top pick!
