Away from everyday life at Montreal’s secret spa

Today, we’re hiding away at the Guerlain Spa at the Four Season’s Montreal, located in what’s affectionately known as “The Golden Square Mile’.  Far from the urban hustle and bustle of Rue de la Montagne, in an 18-storey mixed residential, retail and hotel complex, it’s epitome of tranquillity and discretion.

The petite spa has but eight treatment rooms, one of which is their couple’s suite. We chose a results-driven experience called the ‘Secrets of India’ That use Guerlain advanced-performance products, Inspired by the  Shalimar Legend, this journey, in the hands of the Guerlain Expert is guided by the rhythm of the music. Divided into four emotions; meditation, sensuality, joy and energy it promises the rebirth of body and mind.

In another quiet area, we’re invited to walk the Kneipp reflexology trail. Focusing on the healing power of water, and the trail’s ability to massage and stimulated the soles of the feet, the concept was developed by 19th century Bavarian naturopath, Sebastian Kneipp.

As we’re leaving a group of three women arrive for an intimate celebration with friends. Their special afternoon begins with a glass of prosecco, time with a personal shopper at Holt Renfrew Oglivy (accessed from the third floor of the hotel) and 90-minute massages and facials.  Just what the good doctor ordered!!!
