Rinkside at the Rockefeller Centre, we find a boisterous uptown vibe as locals snuggle into upholstered booths and chat at the bar counter that surrounds the open kitchen. We’ve been sent here pre-theatre by friends of ours, who dine here once a month when they’re in town. Jupiter is the second restaurant from the team behind King, Soho’s much loved Italian resto on the southwest corner of King and Sixth Avenue.
And, as promised, founders Clare de Boer, Annie Shi and Jess Shadbolt delight here too. Start with zucchini fritte and choose from a variety of handmade pasta dishes, or grilled meats with seasonal vegetables. All alongside a fabulous collection of new wines and a dessert menu that features creamy panacotta with Amarena cherries …simply to die for. The secrets out, it’s Jupiter not the theatre that’s turned our friends frequent flyers.
