Life out loud…

Welcome to Fifth Avenue–one of New York’s most impressive and well known shopping streets.

A historic limestone mansion on Fifth Avenue in NYC’s NoMad neighbourhood has a new lease on life thanks to a twelve-year, brick-by-brick rehabilitation funded by the Ohebahsalom family.

Once a Guilded Age, Italian palazzo-style bank, it’s reincarnation as the Fifth Avenue Hotel’s is bold, brave and beautiful. The Kit calls its design, a “colourful riot of dopamine, décor and decadent pleasures”. Need we say more?

Intimate and elegant

Missing are the commonplace bastions of calm—those muted walls and furnishings drowned in vanilla accoutrements. Instead, expect five stories of Martin Brudnizki’s whimsical, over-the-top textiles and furnishings that rule in the most thunderous and conspicuous way possible. Select your preferred room or suite from a jewel box of distinctive colour palettes and eclectic art. Offerings include mansion suites, opulent studios and spacious ADA and signature suites with garden terraces—all boasting divine beds with Italian linens and marble bathrooms (Pets are welcome who are well trained and under 50 lbs).

The collection

The art on display at The Fifth is an ode to watching and wandering like a Flaneur—one who collects art to gather moments and memories, puzzles and paradoxes, intrigues and inspirations. Displayed together it creates dialogues, simultaneously asking questions and offering delight.

Sparkling chandeliers

The hotel’s eateries are also full of eclectic chic, bluster and bravado where it’s see-and-be-seen at both Cafe Carmellini—from James Beard Award Winning Chef, Andre Carmellini. The spirited Portrait Bar is a cozy spot where one can sip on delightfully avant-guard cocktails and snack on embellished bar fare. At the end of the evening step into a living dream as you return to your suite at the Mansion on Fifth to continue your magical  experience. With a  host of amenities and personalized service, you’ll want for nothing. Even the hotel’s emblem, said to be reminiscent of the days-gone-by tortoises who were walked, on leashes, though Parisian arcades by ambling Flaneurs, speaks to sheer indulgence.
