With the opening of Brasserie Alexandria, the parlour and library dining room of Picton’s historic Merrill House, have been transformed into a series of fantastically immersive rooms where a world of golden beauty and mythology awaits.
Carrying over from the hotel’s previous restaurant, revered Head Chef Michael Sullivan will still lead the team at the new French restaurant according to owner, Jordon Martin de Rosales. Sullivan’s new menu will combine traditional brasserie cuisine with the best seasonal ingredients in a tempting menu that offers tartare, escargot, steak frites, and, of course, crème brule for dessert. Wine Director Astrid Young’s will also continue to manage the state-of-the- art wine cellar and the respected Wine Spectator program that features rare vintages from across the globe as well as fine French and the best of Prince Edward County Wines.

The cleverly created Bar Atlas has created a unique way for guests to travel the world. Each of the mixologists chosen drinks has been placed on a ‘cocktail map’ that features over a dozen historic and contemporary recipes. And for just a little more fun, patrons will be invited to roll the golden dice in the treasure chest to win a hotel stay or a variety of other interesting prizes.
Editor’s Note: Request the owner’s suite at the top of the house, if it’s available.
