Day-jamas, soft adventure and therapeutic laziness

Forecasting some of the delightfully decedent self-care rituals we’re likely to see in the year 2025, a recent consumer trend report predicts AI smart beds, daytime PJ’s, indulgent prescription-scented lullabies, and all things sleep enhancing.

Elevating the moorish act of spending hours in bed, the evolution of ‘therapeutic laziness’, (TL) has come surface. Suddenly acceptable, it’s the celebratory off-shoot of the rising anti-wellness movement. TL is an upmarket version of frat house style bed rotting—a passive lounge under the covers …. with phones and ipads encouraged.

The ideal TL experience has a rest meeting beauty vibe where participants seek out a nourishing, pressure free space at home or at a hotel. It’s all about being intentionally unproductive by partaking in a guilt-free, self-care retreat …usually in bed.

With pleasurable ‘treat-while you laze’ hair and skin care rituals that promise a refined, restorative rest, therapeutic laziness is perhaps a rediscovered antidote to combat the day-to-day burnout and anxiety that many folks are feeling.

Keeping an age-agnostic focus on rest and recovery, day- jamas are this season’s feel-good bed to beach and beyond wear. A bold, frisky take on tired old sweatpants, they’re easy to pack and I’ve heard may even be infused with wellness ingredients. Best news – day pj’s come in multiple colourways and fabrics and are enjoyably affordable.

The moral of the story for 2025…home and away, stay in your pj’s all day and, even before the going gets tough, head stylishly back to bed.

Who can argue with that?
